Funding
BreakAway exists to support young people with bladder and/or Bowel diversions/dysfunctions and their families. No one should miss out on the opportunity to attend a Breakaway event due to financial constraints.
There are three ways of applying for funding for 2010. Please see below for more details.
The BreakAway fund exists to help people attend events that may otherwise be unable to because of financial hardship.
BreakAway receives sponsorship and donations from stoma care companies, fund-raising and private donations. Every penny raised goes directly to the families supported.
Families can apply to BreakAway for funding, by clicking contact us and requesting funding support. Breakaway cannot guarantee to help every family who applies to the fund, but are passionate that no one should miss out due to limited finances.
IA Young IA aims to support the association’s younger members, and other young people, either pre-surgery or post-surgery, who undergo either an ileostomy or an internal pouch operation.
IA is pleased to support Breakaway and will consider applications to the bursary for young people to help with costs.

UA The Urostomy Association aims to – assist those who are about to undergo or who have undergone surgery which results in a urinary diversion, such as a urostomy, continent urinary pouch or neo bladder and to assist carers in the rehabilitation of people with a urinary diversion. To improve the quality of life of people who have undergone urinary diversion surgery and those who care for them. To undertake such research as the Membership feels is necessary to enhance the life of members.
Members of the Urostomy Association may be eligible for full or part funding for Breakaway events through a scheme called the Valerie Kings Fund, that exists, primarily to give financial help in order to improve the quality of life of all urostomates.
